I finally managed to get some free time (well, actually, I had free time but I just wasn’t in the mood) to tweak a bit more on the site. The changes are not very big, but hopefully they are for the best.

Firstly, I fiddled with the site feed. My inner-geek got the best of me and I decided to give Feedburner a go. All the traffic from the old feed should be redirected to the new Feedburner feed. Hopefully it actually works in practice too. This change will give me a better perspective on how many people actually read me regularly as before the only measure I had of that was the Google Webmaster Tools Subscribers statistics (which is a bit off for people not using Google Reader). So, if you we’re subscribed to the old feed and you don’t see new content being posted (like this one), that’s why. Hopefully you’ll come back and subscribe again, but that’s just wishful thinking.

I’ve also added the option to subscribe by email. I know it’s a long shot and I doubt that anyone prefers this method instead of the classic feed. I’m just testing the waters here. And by the way, don’t worry about giving me your email, I also don’t like spam and you won’t receive unwanted messages by subscribing here.

In the tweak frenzy that got over me today I also updated the About me (minor change) and Contact me pages. Took me a while to realize that they had absolutely no relevant info whatsoever. Go check them out now.

until it’s officially released and I buy a copy. Or until I get into the Beta (please, oh please!).

Why? Well, because it’s still in Beta. That means there are going to be a lot of differences between releases.

A week ago (from what I’ve read at least), the new mage talent trees sucked. Now, with the release of Build 8681, things are a lot different.

I can safely say Protection Paladins also suffered some modifications in the Protection talent tree that certainly changed my “future-beta-awesome-all-around” tanking build.

After being on holiday for the last week I’m really behind with the news. And there is so much information to assimilate I just can’t cope with. So, I’ll just be on my normal routine and not blog about it.

Since I started playing World of Warcraft (this was over a year and a few months ago) I’ve gone through several events that changed and shaped the way I play the game. Some we’re so important that even taught me real life lessons.

It goes without a say that I’ve collected a lot of memories in this time. I can’t really make a top out of them so here are some of them (off the top of my hat, there are probably others which I can’t remember at the moment).

I remember the time when I considered WoW a stupid game to play. I remember when I finally decided to gave it a try and actually enjoying it. I remember standing in front of the character screen for at least 10 minutes before deciding to play a Paladin (yeah, I’ve played a Paladin in Diablo also) but in all that excitement I forgot to customize the looks of my character. I remember hiting level 20 and not understanding why I don’t gain more experience (I was on a trial account). I remember starting a guild with a Swedish guy (sorry, I don’t remember his name) and running after unguilded players in the Alliance starting areas to sign our charter. Soon after he didn’t log anymore and I was left alone in the guild. I remember meeting Revlon, a player that changed my gaming experience in so many ways I didn’t think possible. I remember meeting Drac, the reason I wanted to become a Tankadin in the first place. I remember joining and becoming a core member of Damage Inc, a leveling guild based on helping others. Even tho we were infamous for out lack of progress (often being mocked/bashed on the Karazhan forum realms) we stood our ground and learned from it.

I remember completing for the first time a normal run of Black Morass and getting Revered with Keepers of time. I think all Protection Paladins consider this moment a high point in their carriers. I remember starting Karazhan and wiping several times on the trash leading to Attumen. Yeah, I know, but we were young and restless. I remember when we finally managed to kill him. There was much rejoice. I remember wiping on the elites in front of Moroes room and we considered him and Maiden being furthest we can go. I remember completing my first heroic with my guild, Mechanar.

I remember being very disappointed when people began leaving for other guilds because we were not progressing. I called them loot whores at that time, but later on began to understand (some) of them. I remember things falling appart when most of my WoW-friends decided to transfer for a better server. I stayed behind only to realise that if I don’t transfer togheter with them, I might as well quit WoW.

I remember writting my first guild apply. I remember my first 25-man and the feeling of insecurity it brought on me. I remember my first T4 drop. Funny enough it wasn’t from Karazhan. I remember the first time I tanked Maiden. I remember the first time we finished Zul’Aman and the time we managed to get 3 bosses within the timer.

I remember the joy and satisfaction I have when people come to me and ask for advice or help and I brigthen their day.

But the most important thing I remember about WoW is friendship.

You might have noticed that for some time now all my post are lacking the most important aspect of this blog: Protection Paladins. Here is why.

I’m tired

I’m tired of running instances. I’m tired of running Heroics. I’m tired of farming for money. I’m tired of farming for consumables. I’m tired of farming for gear. I would be tired of farming for reputation, luckily I’m exalted with everyone.

I’m bored

Normal instances have nothing to offer me. Heroics have nothing to offer me. Karazhan has only 1 thing to offer me: gloves. And each week I’ve been doing it until Curator with no luck. In fact, in all my Karazhan experience, I have yet to see the Maiden gloves drop.

I hate questing

A few days ago I logged in with Tepisor decided to grind myself to exalted for Of the Shattered Sun title. I stopped after 3 quests because I was bored. Did I already say how much I hate questing? I don’t know how you do it, but I just can’t do anymore dailies. I’m tired of it.

What’s left?

25-man content. I love 25-man content. It’s new, refreshing and challenging for me. Unfortunately, Unseen is having low attendances for the last month and raiding is off. I blame summer. And Roskilde.

The solution

My Shadow Priest, which is absolutely amazing. I turned to PvP. I’ve been doing a lot of Battlegrounds, Arenas and World PvP and got some good gear in the process. I’ve even attended a failed 40-man raid on Orgrimmar (which, of course, I forgot to blog about). I see PvP as a new challenge for myself, a challenge I’m determined to carry on for quite some time.

Conclusions

Don’t get me wrong, I love my Tankadin and under no circumstances I would give him up. I love PvE and PvP alike. My friends (most of them) are PvErs and I will continue to PvE on my Paladin. It’s just that for the moment, things are in a bit of a slump in terms of raiding.

As for the blog, lacking raiding lowers the subjects to write about. I’ve got some guides in draft and some interesting BA shared topics in mind. I promise I’ll try to focus more on those.
