Before i get started with the major changes that are going on around here, I’d like to point out a few things on why new content is so scarce around here:

• finished school;
• changed jobs (actually, got promoted);
• got bored of WoW and canceled my account(s) 6 months ago;
• didn’t get in the Beta (yet), but I guess you need to have an active account to even get invited;

Now that I’ve gotten that out of the way, I’ll make a quick summary of the future of this blog:

World of Warcraft and especially Protection Paladins will stop being the central point I write about

Yep. I became increasingly disgruntled with every patch on how Protection Paladins were changing and soon became bored with the class. The only reason I started tanking with my Paladin back in the Karazhan days was because you had to be a good player to be able to tank successfully. This became less and less the case with every patch and content release, until it came to the point that every Paladin and their mother rolled Protection. And I wouldn’t be upset with that, but as with WoW in general, skill in playing your class became optional and every moron was able to tank as a Paladin.

Naturally, I turned to playing a different class. Tried hunter for a bit, found it not very interesting for my style of play and after several attempts stopped at priests. And I say priests (plural) because I leveled two priests to 80, each of the of different spec, class and purpose (Undead Shadow for raiding, Draenei then Troll Disc for PvP).

Those being cleared up, come Cataclysm I’ll definitely play more of my priests and less of my paladin and of course I’ll blog about it.

New games to write about: Heroes of Newerth and Football Manager

While not playing WoW, I kept myself occupied with other games.

Heroes of Newerth

I found Heroes of Newerth with the help of my brother. He was a fan of DOTA and started playing HoN when the beta started. Got an invite myself and even though I never even touched DOTA before, I was instantly attracted with the game play and action.

My main focus on writing will be guides and personal insights on strength heroes in HoN.

Football Manager

Another game I’ve played for a very long time is Football Manager. In fact, I’ve been playing it since it was named Championship Manager.

I will be focusing in my writing about Football Manager on my achievements as a manager and discovering players and tactics that work for specific teams.

Conclusion

Hopefully all these changes will be welcomed and will expand the reader base. Also, I hope it will reignite the spark I lost while writing only about WoW.

Oh, with new content comes a new design also. Still working on it, not yet satisfied.

A new beginning!

• Here we go!

So to celebrate this great event, tonight I shall reinstall the game, since the updater refuses to work (something about not finding wow.exe and I cba to google it). After the reinstall, depending whether it will take me a few hours or my whole life, I shall reactivate my subscription and play the game once more.

Why quit in the first place? Well, I’ve been playing a Prot Pala for a very long time and I was tanking before it was cool (credits go here). I liked how being able to do a good job at tanking with a Paladin in TBC times was a challenge and not everyone and their mother could do it. But then came Wrath and all the bullshit changes made to the classes and I was like “meh, F-it, I want to be special and not like everyone else”. So I quit my Pala and started a few Priests (2 to be more exact, for PvP and the shizzle). Then that didn’t work out as I started a full time job and had to finish my studies and well, it all came down to me quitting the game. I had a post planned to explain the reasons on a much larger scale, but then I started reading Jong and was mesmerized so I forgot.

Long story short, if everything goes as planned, I’m back in the game and back into blogging about the game we all love.

I’m always happy when people ask me questions and since I’ve started blogging there were quite a few that had something to tell me, not by leaving a comment, but by emailing me. I was always swift in responding, as I enjoy helping people. But now this happens, which saddens me greatly.

It’s been a great and interesting year, in which I learned a lot of things and made a lot of friends. I learned that it’s not as easy to work on and maintain a blog as I thought it would be, especially a World of Warcraft one. It requires a great deal of time and documentation and you need to think a million times before hitting the Publish button or else you’ll make a fool of yourself. The Internet is big.

As you can see, we got a new design for the blog. For the past month I worked on finding a good theme, one that would fit all my needs. It was hard, I chose one and settled on this only two days before today. That means it’s not completely customized and ready. You can say it’s still a work in progress, as some things are not as they should be.

I would like to thank my readers for coming back and finding the things I write worth reading, my commenter for giving valuable opinions on my posts, the people who contacted me asking for help or just giving excellent input and feedback and all the follow WoW bloggers for giving me inspiration to go on.

I’m still not bored of World of Warcraft and as long as I’ll find something/anything interesting to do be sure to blog about it.

Now, being a WordPress geek and loving it so much, I can’t help myself but to bother you with some new features that got released in 2.7 and that my new theme sports. I’ll include here some theme-based features, not necesarily WordPress one’s.

1. Threaded comments! Now you can reply to a certain comment and it will appear nested with it. Far better functionality now;
2. Featured Articles! They appear on top of the blog and have a nice picture to go along with them;
3. Better advertisement placing! One needs to get supported;
4. New navigation! You will notice that all my posts until today are in the Uncategorized category (lol!). I did this because I want a better organized post structure so I will limit myself to only a few categories which will have sub categories of their own;
5. In general, a nicer blog design!
