The fine line between you and your character

Posted by User ImageTepisor on May 4, 2008

Did you notice how some players refer to their characters as individual entities?

Like

<InsertCharacterName> went raiding last night and got some nice loot. He’s a happy <InsertClassName> now.

instead of

So I went raiding last night on <InsertCharacterName> and got some nice loot. Glad I did, will make my playtime on him more pleasant.

I swear, those things really scare me.

I love drama

Posted by User ImageTepisor on May 1, 2008

This post right here by BigBearButt reminded me just how much interesting and fascinating drama can be. Seen it so many times in action and every time it’s still funny!

I just love the fact that some people care enough to argue over the Internet in a MMORPG. Remember kids, some purple pixel won’t get you the girl at the end of the movie.

Take a chill-pill, listen to a bit of Asa and just RELAX!

Happy International Workers’ Day everyone!

Retarded and stupid persons should NOT play World of Warcraft

Posted by User ImageTepisor on April 2, 2008
I’m not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don’t we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

Me, together with 4 mobs, spending a little time killing each other. Quality time I would say. So we we’re killing and killing and killing and killing until they’re dead and I was left with 1k-2k health left. Nothing unusual for a Protection Paladin, right? But HAHA! Pop goes the hunter, sneaking behind me while I was looting. Steady shot-steady shot, dead Tepisor.

WHY?! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, WHY DO PEOPLE DO THIS STUFF?

Someone please explain to me, where is the honor in doing this? It’s no secret, I’m a Protection speced Paladin. I can’t even commit suicide because of my bubble! I can’t kill anything in PvP! (except Rogues and Warriors)

Where did the fair PvP go these days? Did The Island take all your mind with the endless pathetic gank-war? Why kill a player below 10% HP? Are we THAT desperate for some honor points? Ain’t PvP more fun when you actually need to show some gear/skill/WHATEVER?

If you do this kind of stuff and find great joy in it, to me you are retarded and stupid and should be banned from any kind of online playing games that involve PvP.

Twinking and you - should you do it?

Posted by User ImageTepisor on March 3, 2008

There is a lot to be said on this subject. Many forum posts have been made, endless topics have been written about why you should/shouldn’t twink and yet a conclusion is still to be found.

What is a twink?

Let’s take the definition from wowwiki:

A twink is a player character that is disproportionately powerful for its level, possessing potent items and high-end enchants that are generally far beyond the means of other players at that level.

“More powerful you say? ZOMG, I want that!” Hold on there junior, keep reading.

Achieving RL / WoW balance - biggest threat to you

Posted by User ImageTepisor on February 8, 2008

I wanted to write about this very delicate subject for a long time (it was on my to-write-about list even since the beginning of the blog). But what really got me going was this wonderful post. I recommend you to read it. Really read it even tho it’s long. And old. It’s still very fresh.

I find myself in some of the situations the poster describes. I too have (tried to) lead a guild as an officer and found myself not able to please the greedy. I also have neglected really important aspects of my life for WoW. And for what? To be “better”? “Better” in what, a video game? Like that’s going to pay my rent and kiss me goodnight when I go to bed.

WoW is made in such a way that you can’t achieve something important unless you play like an addict. True story and you know I’m right. Let’s focus a bit on this concept of achievement in WoW.
