Fail of the Lich King. I’m also back



So patch 3.3 is upon us. Well, mostly upon every­one else except me, because exactly two months ago was the last day I was logged in.

So to cel­e­brate this great event, tonight I shall rein­stall the game, since the updater refuses to work (some­thing about not find­ing wow.exe and I cba to google it). After the rein­stall, depend­ing whether it will take me a few hours or my whole life, I shall reac­ti­vate my sub­scrip­tion and play the game once more.

Why quit in the first place? Well, I’ve been play­ing a Prot Pala for a very long time and I was tank­ing before it was cool (cred­its go here). I liked how being able to do a good job at tank­ing with a Pal­adin in TBC times was a chal­lenge and not every­one and their mother could do it. But then came Wrath and all the bull­shit changes made to the classes and I was like “meh, F-it, I want to be spe­cial and not like every­one else”. So I quit my Pala and started a few Priests (2 to be more exact, for PvP and the shiz­zle). Then that didn’t work out as I started a full time job and had to fin­ish my stud­ies and well, it all came down to me quit­ting the game. I had a post planned to explain the rea­sons on a much larger scale, but then I started read­ing Jong and was mes­mer­ized so I forgot.

Long story short, if every­thing goes as planned, I’m back in the game and back into blog­ging about the game we all love.

PS: what really made me want to play the game again was the short movie intro­duced in the patch which you can see here.

PPS: when I first saw the fol­low­ing pic­ture (click for full res­o­lu­tion), I read “Fail of the Lich King”. Any­one else in the same situation?

   I also saw Fail of the Lich King — I had to read it two times … I was like … “why on earth would Bliz­zard name some­thing Fail” … crazy that they didn’t notice that.

   I def­i­nitely saw “Fail” at first as well (plus, this was the first link when I googled “Fail of the Lich King”). Before I took a closer look, I thought Bliz­zard was mak­ing fun of itself for their extended main­te­nance or something.
