Other MMOs – EVE, WoW, FML and Aion?

Other MMOs – EVE, WoW, FML and Aion?

I’m a big fan of computer games. I probably spend too much time playing them and many may think it’s a waste of time. I partially agree with that statement, but we’re not here to discuss that.

I remember playing my first game on an old HC Spectrum, which needed a cassette player to load it’s games from tapes. Computers being a subject which started to interest me, I later started to get some courses on Informatics. I discovered the 286 and 386, on which I played Prince of Persia, Aladdin and some Formula 1 game. Then in 1994 I got my first personal computer, a 386 with 33 MHz processor and 1 MB of RAM. It was the moment that got my hooked to any gaming related activities.

Fast forward 15 years, I discovered MMOs. It started with EVE, continued with Word of Warcraft and with FML in-between. But lately I’ve been looking to widen my horizons and after reading Tobol’s review (and several others), I’m really thinking of giving Aion a shot.

If you’re like me, maybe you would like to take a look at Killer Guides little contest. They are giving away 20 beta weekend passes for Aion. All you have to do is describe in a sentence why should you receive one of the passes. All winners will also get a copy of their Aion Strategy Guide.

  1. I thought Aion looked good too but apparently, it's pretty standard as MMO's go. It just looks nice and shiney ^^

  2. `Triad-X says:

Our vents channel where all the Aion players were quite populated. About 5-12 people playing it…not even partied together…but just enjoying the general chit chat.

I can go to bed at 2am and wake up for work and they’d still be online. But the game didn’t have a very lasting appeal…think I remember one of my guild mates saying he reached a certain level and there were no more quests. Needless to say, they’re all back to being WoW addicts.
