Maintanking in Karazhan



Yep, I’ve done it. And it’s not a big deal!

Yes­ter­day my guild, Pan­demic, had planned a full Kara run, in which I was going to be off­tank. Because the main tank was late, I was des­ig­nated as MT. I had been MT before and I knew what to do.

Tanked Attumen, tanked trash, healed at Maiden (I know it can be done and I’ve done it before but see­ing I was the only Pal­adin in the raid I wanted to cleanse the Holy Fire) (and PLEASE Maiden, next time drop my Iron Gauntlets of the Maiden and Barbed Choker of Dis­ci­pline), healed at Cura­tor (!), tanked Opera and then… I got dis­con­nected! After about 15 min­utes the con­nec­tion was up again and right in time for me to tank Prince.

Loot was good in terms of tank­ing: Moroes dropped Moroes’ Lucky Pocket Watch (which I passed for the other tank) and Prince dropped Helm of the Fallen Cham­pion (which, again, I passed, and a Restora­tion Shaman got them to com­plete his 2-piece set).

Look­ing back it wasn’t really a main tank­ing Pal­adin run, but hey! I reached a sta­tus where I don’t have to prove I can do it because every­one knows I can.

And besides, the Main Tank of a guild is the one that can help all the time, be online when he’s needed and attend all the raids. And I’m not that per­son at the moment. But more on that in a dif­fer­ent post.
