Mini guide to tanking Nightbane for Protection Paladins

I am so excited about my achievement that I decided to write a small guide for all you Protection Paladins out there that want to try this. Please bear with me.

Mini guide to tanking Nightbane for Protection Paladins

  • ask a Priest to put Fear Ward on you (if you got more than one in your raid, ask them to take turns);
  • ask a shaman to put Tremor Totem near you (to shorten the fear duration);
  • nuke hard, keep aggro at all costs (mana is NOT a problem, you’ll get plenty back when all the healers are targeting you so go all out. Keep Holy Shield up at all times and remember to use Exorcism as often as possible to give you what extra boost on aggro);
  • if you get feared don’t worry, he still goes for you if you are top on the aggro list. After fear remember to position him so that he doesn’t have his tail at the DPS group;
  • in phase two (when he’s flying) use Holy Wrath then Consecrate when the skeletons spawn. This way no Warlock or Mage will get aggro from them when they AoE;
  • rinse and repeat until he’s dead;
  • loot!

Keep in mind that it worked for me flawlessly. It’s true, my gear is much better than average (uncritable, uncrushable, ~330 spell damage, ~12k HP unbuffed). But you can do it also with no problems if you are average geared (best blues available, some epics from heroics or epics from previous bosses) and your group can handle the requirements for this boss.

Hope my experience with this boss helps someone else. If it does, please be sure to tell me. Have fun!
