Timbal’s Focusing Crystal for Protection Paladins
I will only say this once, but I’ll do it as loudly as I can.
STOP ROLLING ON TIMBAL’S FOCUSING CRYSTAL. IT’S USELESS FOR YOU!
Now that I’m more calm, let’s focus.
Reasons why Timbal’s Focusing Crystal is not good for Protection Paladins
- While it does indeed proc with Consecration, it has an internal cooldown of 15 seconds. That’s HUGE!
- The proc rate is only 10%;
- The proc is SHADOW damage. That means it’s not affected by Righteous Fury;
- It lacks Stamina;
OK, what does that teach us? That this trinket is highly unreliable because of the high internal cooldown, that your TPS will not see a good improvement because of the subpar damage and that you should not use it.
Get Darkmoon Card: Vengeance. Now!
I’ve never heard of a tank rolling for this, and would spit blood if they did. Have you seriously seen this “in the wild”?

Seriously, any tank who rolls on that is a tank no-one should want to play with, because they clearly DON’T KNOW THEIR CLASS!
I had a rogue roll against my pally for Commendation of Kael’thas. Probably not as bad as a pally rolling on Timbal’s Focusing Crystal, but still annoying.

While I agree that no Paladin should ever roll on this over someone else, last time I did Heroic MgT this dropped and the Warlock already had it. Noone else wanted it so instead of having it DEed into a shard worth 15g I took it for AOE grinding. Yes the Darkmoon card is better, but since this was free I figured what the heck.
